Welcome to the Campus of Live Sciences running in Dang, Nepal under the management of Mid-west Academy and Research Institute (MARI CoLS). Majority of the population of Nepal have been engaged in agriculture, has to find out solution to cope with the challenges like hunger, poverty, depletion of natural resources, non-equitable access and control to the available natural resources and opportunities through agricultural development. Sustainable agricultural growth is critical to ensure food and nutrition security in a country like Nepal. Agriculture still contributes about one-third to the country’s GDP and provides direct livelihood to two-thirds of its population. However, the agriculture sector faces several challenges in Nepal, which includes low productivity, high instability, shocks due to climate change, lack of adequate infrastructure and investment. Considering the importance of live science education, MARI management has decided to contribute the nation by providing the quality education in agricultural science. Tribuvan University affiliated Bachelor degree course in Campus of Live Sciences, Tulsipur, Dang Nepal is the first milestone of the MARI including the different researches in agriculture and natural research, management sector, trainings, agricultural farms, labs since 2014 AD. It is always a privilege to lead such an outstanding institution of higher learning in the field of Agriculture and we are on the way to expand our master, bachelor, and diploma level degrees in different streams of live sciences Our sound bachelor’s degree in agriculture science is led by highly qualified distinguished faculties who are experts in their agriculture education and agricultural development fields and value teaching. Our low faculty to student ratio allows us to have full time faculty teaching students in small classes and provides ample opportunities for undergraduate research. We’ve been a part of the fabric of the Mid-Western part of Nepal since our establishment. Our successful partnership and collaborations with Local, Provincial and Federal governments, private sector and the local communities have strengthened us and created good harmony with different stakeholders. Our motto is “Quality Education for qualified technical human resources”. Our always focus for sufficient and excellent facilities, good educational environment without compromising the quality of education to the students. We have been creating opportunities and inspirations among the students to achieve their academic goals with sound practical knowledge. We recognize that in addition to our students’ academic pursuits, they lead full, rich lives and need our support. Yet, Campus of Live Sciences offers more than just a great learning experience. It broadens horizons and challenges assumptions. We have just produced some 227 plus graduates bachelors’ degree holders; and we feel encouraged that they have exhibited excellent performance in the field of their work. Some of them have been pursuing higher studies in USA, Australia, Canada, Europe, Thailand and India in full scholarships. Some of the MARICoLS graduates have been working with various national and international organizations quite successfully. 21 numbers of our graduates got foreign employment opportunities in Israel from the Learn and Earn program. Large number of our graduates has also joined government service; and they have been working in different districts and projects of Nepal. So many of our students find that the public mission of Campus of Live Sciences seeps in, and changes them, in ways that help them make their way in the world and in turn make that community a better place.
